The Virginia Horse Council is your voice for the expanding equine industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Council is a not-for-profit organization formed by horsemen for Virginia horsemen. The membership and Board of Directors represent all breeds. The purpose of the Virginia Horse Council is to promote and improve the horse industry in Virginia.

Southside Virginia Horse Council

The Southside Virginia Horse Council was formed in 2007 by local horse enthusiasts and is neither breed nor discipline specific. Their goal is to progressively develop the well-rounded horse owner while promoting owner responsibility, safety, horse management and all styles of riding. SVHC is a legislative arm of the horse industry in Southside Virginia that benefits all facets of the horse community.

Tidewater Horse Council was organized by a group of Tidewater horse enthusiasts in 1978 and incorporated in 1980. THC is neither breed nor discipline specific. Its purpose is to progressively develop the well-rounded horse person while promoting owner responsibility, safety, horse management and all styles of riding. It is an educational and legislative arm of the horse industry in the Hampton Roads area that benefits all facets of the horse community.

The American Horse Council was organized in 1969 to represent the horse industry in Washington before Congress and the federal regulatory agencies.  It is a non-profit corporation that represents all segments of the equine industry.
